A production, localisation and creative partner for agencies, producers and creators from Québec and beyond, fo.ne.tik brings together the audiovisual, linguistic and creative expertise of Studio Edgar and The French Shop within an integrated approach focused on quality, coherence and cultural resonance.
Montreal, April 8, 2026 – fo.ne.tik announces its official launch today. Born from a deep transformation and the natural evolution of The French Shop and Studio Edgar’s complementary strengths, the Montreal-based creative studio positions itself as a new collaborative player within Québec’s creative and production ecosystem.
More than a service provider, fo.ne.tik acts as a close partner to advertising agencies, production companies, broadcasters, content creators and brands seeking to develop and produce projects that resonate meaningfully within Québec culture.
Deeply rooted in the realities of La Belle Province, fo.ne.tik emerges at a time when ideas are circulating more freely than ever across platforms, disciplines and partners. The studio combines production, localisation and creation from the earliest stages of a project, enabling stronger narrative continuity and helping preserve the original creative intent through to final execution.
“fo.ne.tik was born from a simple ambition: to create a space where ideas can grow through the interaction of multiple creative sensibilities and areas of expertise. We wanted to help projects evolve, not just execute or adapt them. Our role is to bring a nuanced understanding of Québec’s cultural codes and to create the conditions for initiatives to resonate authentically here,” says Martin Archambault, President and Partner.
The studio contributes to advertising campaigns as well as to narrative and cultural projects, including television series, documentaries, podcasts, digital content, video games and branded initiatives. This versatility allows fo.ne.tik to collaborate with a wide range of creative stakeholders and to support productions that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of advertising.
When brands, streaming platforms or producers from across Canada and abroad seek to connect more meaningfully with Québec audiences, fo.ne.tik offers a dedicated cultural localisation product designed to preserve the impact of ideas, stories or brand universes while reinforcing their local relevance.
According to David Gagnon, Vice President and Partner, this structure enables greater creative fluidity: “By bringing our expertise together under one roof, we foster an environment that encourages experimentation and collaboration. Our model is built on trust and on the desire to deliver complete projects—conceived as cohesive creative works rather than fragmented interventions.”
With fully redesigned facilities and a footprint that has doubled in size, fo.ne.tik offers a turnkey environment to conceptualize, produce and fine-tune projects of all kinds. Four professional audio studios, three recording booths, dedicated spaces for filming and podcast production, state-of-the-art technical infrastructure, and cocreation workspaces all come together in one location to deliver a seamless and deeply collaborative experience.
An identity that resonates.
Evoking both the precision of language and the musicality of sound, the name “fo.ne.tik” is also inspired by the phonetic way of writing French in Québec, reflecting the studio’s commitment to cultural nuance and local codes.
Its visual identity is structured around five dots, representing the five fo.ne.tik frequencies — words, territory, people, symbols and influences — that guide every creative and strategic decision. The studio’s graphic style and colour palette also nod to the legacy of Montreal design from the 1960s and 1970s, a defining era for the city’s visual culture.
Building on the trusted relationships developed over the years by The French Shop and Studio Edgar, fo.ne.tik aims to ensure continuity for existing collaborations while opening the door to new partnerships across Québec, the rest of Canada and internationally.
